When someone clicks on an html link from our FTP site, and it launches the course in Google Chrome, sometimes it diverts to the HTML5 version of the course instead of the html version.
We've tested it with 4 people working remotely from home offices and two of us got the html version and two got the html5 version all clicking on the same link.
What could be the reason for this?
We still need the HTML5 link so that users can work on mobile, but we prefer that if they are on their desktop that it launch the regular flash version because it may feature more bells & whistles.
Did you check to see which version of Chrome they were using? Chrome is starting to desupport Flash and with the version 55 they are automatically redirecting to html5.
if this is not the reason then check to make sure their browsers have a supported version of Flash installed.

It appears to be due to the Chrome update. I'm experiencing the same issue.
The only issue for me is, the html5 version isn't as sharp as the html version on desktop. It looks blurry.
Hi Brooke,
You'll want to take a look at the steps and solutions in this article if your users are on the latest update of Chrome.
Chrome has been phasing out Flash support. If it detects there is an HTML5 option it will choose it.
