I was unable to reproduce the behavior you encountered. Would you be able to share a screenshot or your story file here or with our support engineers privately in a support case?
I'm not sure what a screenshot is going to show, other than nothing in the player. As Jürgen says, if there's nothing else in the bottom of the player, the full screen button won't show on its own. We don't always use next/prev buttons, so this limits the usefulness of the full screen player button.

it happens if on all slides the prev and next buttons are deactivated

a workaround is to add one slide with prev/next active, but not reachable via navigation
