Getting Engages to work in Storyline

I have built a module of learning in Storyline and added in Engages. Once the engage has been gone through, and the user clicks on the 'Next' button in Storyline it wont automatically move onto the next slide. Have tried disabling the next/previous buttons in the engage to see if that helps but it isn't...any help much appreciated!!!
