GIF Animation, white dot issue

Jan 05, 2018

Hello there!

I use GIF animations for things like unstructional pointers. For instance, a white animated arrow placed in the state of a text box.

I never noticed this issue in SL2, but in SL3 I am getting a white dot in the corner of the GIF. I've tried different ways of creating/exporting the GIF, and even different programs, but the problem remains.

I attached a slide with a sample of the problem. Notice when the GIF is rotated, the white dot follows along.

Any help with this would be appreciated!

Hi Casey,

Thanks for sharing a copy of your file here. I'm seeing the same behavior in the HTML5 output only - the Flash output appears fine. I'm going to report this to my team as a possible software bug, and I'll let you know here as soon as I have any update from them.

Sometimes my team catches errors in my logic and we don’t have a bug after all. Of course, if that’s the case, I’ll let you know! In the meantime, it does seem that the small white dot only appears on your smaller GIFs and in the HTML5 - so perhaps look at using the Flash output or larger versions of your GIFs?

Thanks so much again for letting us know about this, and I’m sorry if it’s slowing you down.
