GIF not behaving

Howdy folks
I've created a number of animated GIFs (video in Premier, converted in to a GIF in Photoshop) and I've added them to a series of layers within my SL2 project. I figured this would be easier than using the videos.
The problem I have is that the GIF animation is taking about 3x as long to complete than it should, plus my published course has jumped by a factor of 10! Without the GIFs it zips up to about 32mb. With the GIFs, it zips to 332mb!
Anybody any ideas on these two issues?

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your GIF! I can help you straighten this out. Could you attach a sample file here that contains the slide with the GIF? I'll give it a closer look and let you know what I find. ☺️
