Grading question

Jan 07, 2015

Hi all.

I've downloaded the hangman template that someone was kind enough to upload, and am trying to get it working for employees. I'm still quite the beginner but I've figured out how to change the words etc.

The slide is calculating "wrong" answers, and I'd like to somehow put it in the final results slide but I have no idea how to do that. For example, if they get 5 wrong (out of a potential 10 wrong) but still get the word correct, they might get a 50% score. Or alternatively I might make it calculate correct scores - so number of correct letters or whatever.

How do I do that and get it to go into the results slide? Is what I'm trying to do even possible?

Thank you all

Thanks D V for the link. Based on the set up of this one, I think the easiest option would be to score based on overall correct or wrong - meaning if they finish the word or finish the hang man than they'd be scored based on that alone. If you want to keep the set up as it is, you'd likely need to branch to a regular question slide where you automatically select the answer on that based on the value of a variable you'd set on the correct layer, and then automatically go to the results layer as well. I did a sample of that based on the one you shared a link for and attached it here.

The other option would be to turn this question into a pick many question type, with those same triggers you have set up - and the submission trigger of the question based on the state of the text boxes (this example shows the layer based on that). You could than track the pick many question as a regular quiz question.

Thank you so much Ashley!

I think this will work - my only question is how did you get it to do that? I tried to copy what you did, but in yours, it changes state of "true" to selected if "hangman" = true. I assume the "hangman" refers to the completion of the word, but I can't figure out how to create that variable.

Thank you!

Hi DV,

The "hangman" variable  it's set on the correct layer, which the user is shown based on how they answered the question. I used all the existing triggers that were there and just added the element of the additional quiz question and setting it's value based on which feedback layer the user visited. If you need directions on how to create a new variable, you'll want to review this tutorial.
