Gray Arrows

Apr 08, 2024

Hi,

The order of my slides changed at random yesterday and I am unsure why. I today went back and removed any next or advancement buttons, but on a few slides, I have these gray arrows that show they are connected and I am not sure why? These slides should not even be connected.  I try to click on the gray arrows and nothing happens. Any ideas?

I have provided pictures of the arrows and my base settings for all my slides.

STORYVIEW and the SCENES panel display slides vertically with arrows in between them when the slides are connected. The connection can be via the built-in NEXT button, via advancing automatically, or via a jump-to-slide trigger.

Your settings image shows that the slides don't have the NEXT button and don't advance automatically. Therefore, I'd assume that there are triggers that connect the slides.

If that's not the case, well, troubleshooting is just guessing without seeing the .story file. If you upload it, someone might be able to solve the issue. Here are the best practices for uploading a .story file:

  • Only include slides that are related to the problem.
  • Be sure objects, layers, motion paths, and variables have meaningful names.
  • If there is proprietary content, replace or delete it. For example, replace proprietary text with “ipsum lorem” text.
