Have you noticed that in Storyline 360 grouped objects seem to resist exit animations in state mode? Even in one of the templates I found here the group fades in beautifully, but just bluntly disappears afterwards (even though there is a fade exit animation in). I have made my own file which exhibits the same pattern. Take a look:
I know exit animations work on individual elements. It is just so counter-intuitive that the entrance animations will work on groups, but exit animations won't. I also see that none of the staff has commented on this.
Thanks for reaching out and sharing a sample file here. Like you said, I would expect that exit animations would work on grouped objects if entrance animations also work. I'm going to take this to my team to have a closer look. Sometimes my team catches errors in my logic and we don’t have a bug after all. Of course if that’s the case, I’ll let you know!

Great news! We just released another update for Articulate 360, and included a few important fixes and new features that you'll see in the release notes here.
Some other fixes were included like resolve the issue where exit animations do not work on grouped objects within a state.
Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application. Details here.

It is probably to do with grouping inside of a state, not sure this is a bug or a missing feature.
If you remove the group and then add fade exit animations to individual objects it works.
