Hi, I've created a custom free form drag and drop interaction with multiple target areas with the condition of having only 1 object per drop target. The problem I encounter is that the objects stack over each other rather than returning to it's original position. Is there a way to solve this?
Thank you for the reply. Yes I do have that selected, and the interaction works fine until I select "Allow only one item in each drop target." I think the problem lies on having used multiple drop areas for each object. I do apologize I cannot explain the problem better, but I will try and create a sample Storyline file to show what happens.
Hi, terribly sorry for the late reply. I've attached a sample story showing the interaction I've tried to do. Within the sample, [option 1] and [option 2] have the same set of correct and incorrect areas where they could be dragged upon, but with Storyline's default drag and drop form you can only set 1 option to 1 area. I've used state triggers to work around it, but once set - the option for drag targets to only allow 1 item doesn't activate. The items stack over the drop target. I'm aware that Storyline's basic drag and drop doesn't work this way, but I was wondering if there's a way to go about it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Hi Jeremy
You have to select the option "return item to start point if dropped outside". Go to the drag and drop options (see image).
Hope it was helpful
cheers

Thanks Jeremy! That is usually the most helpful and I was going to pop in and suggest the same.
