Help with blurry image when zooming on clear image.

Mar 25, 2022

I read you may help with this issue in the discussions. I still cannot figure out how to fix this.

When I use the "Zoom Region" to zero in a clean image (300 dpi), then in Preview, it becomes blurry.

What to do?

Hello Rob...

David covers some of the basics here in this training video. DPI is print-based and irrelevant to digital images as it references printed dots per inch.

Here's a simplified explanation of what happens:

Assume your course size is 720x540. When you insert an image on the slide and it gets rendered, you are zooming in on the 720x540 pixel slide. Thus you'll see degradation of raster/bitmap images. This doesn't happen to vector images because they aren't based on pixel size.

If you modify your story size resolution up, you can make the image more crisp. Also, you can set the image quality up to 100% during publish which will help.

Here's a video with some examples.
