HELP with Interactive Vid Gliches & ReTry blockout!

Thanks Ed for sharing a copy of your file - I took a look at it and uploaded to my SCORM Cloud account here (which is an industry standard for testing LMS content) and you can view it here. Which slides were the ones in question causing difficulty? Also in regards to revisiting slides are they using the back key or the "retry" button?

Prev buttons work. Since the post I cleared the CACHE (such an EZ fix that many people forget about in development - we're CONVINCED its this complex thing, right?

It helped overall performance in both IE8 and CHROME.

But when the user clicks the stock "RETRY" on the next to last slide, prior to the Certificate Layer showing, if they are shown to have failed, the nav goes to the correct slide, but one cannot enter any data on these slides. As you see, Allow Retry is checked.

These problems are happening from our internal server playback off a link.

The problematic items are the RETRY not working

* Scene 5, "Final Assessment", Slide one which is a combo slide using 3 questions, 2 Feedback (followed by a multiple choice), works in preview fine, but from the server the #2 & #3 questions will not "NEXT" to the next item and will repeat numerous time until finally the last "Next" gets to that Multiple Choice question.

* The other issue I mentioned is the glitches when clicking Next when like a "foreshadowed" frame from a question shows (like a split second) and then the proper Next slide appears.

* I replaced the previous "Exit Course" button with a EXIT as a text box, and used it as a trigger. Seems to work now.

Hey Ashley:

Checking in the ScormCloud, everything works pretty well except for the few glitches. A header needs to be fixed in Scene 5, for a question, but “nbd”.

When I clicked the “Print Results” button that I re-triggered to move to a next screen that has a Certificate on it, I only got a blank report. I unassigned the Print Results button from its out of the box function.

What is the reason for this?

It would appear as if some of this issue must be off our non-lms server?

Please advise with any follow up. Thanks for turning me on to SCORM CLOUD!

Hi Edward,

First off, I wanted to let you know that responding via email includes your signature here. So you're welcome to edit the post to remove that information if you'd like.

As for the issues you mentioned - it sounds like with the minor exceptions mentioned, the initial issues are not present in SCORM Cloud? That's a good sign of Storyline working as expected! If so, my next piece of advice is to double check how you're publishing and where you're hosting that published output. Hosting it locally or outside the intended publish settings (in a web site when published for LMS as an example) is known to cause difficulties. 

As for the print results button, it seems that since that option was still enabled in the Results slide set up it's overriding the layer set up you had. If you wanted to use your own set up, I'd look at disabling it from the Results slide options and then inserting a button that you've duplicated to look and act like the others. 

I'm not sure what you meant about the header glitch, could you point me to a slide?
