Help with Process Interaction buttons

Jan 27, 2016

I just started using articulate so forgive me if this is a simple fix that is right in my face. I inserted a Process Interaction slide that has 9 buttons (blue squares) on the bottom, which I guess are the buttons to go to the different steps in the process.

For some reason this is laid out with 9 blue button shapes on top of the numbers 1-9. Only they are not lined up properly. Shapes 3-9 overlay numbers 1-7. So button one is over nothing, 2 is over nothing, 3 is over the number 1, etc. Numbers 8 and 9 have nothing over them and are not hidden behind shapes as the others are.

When I try to move shape it simultaneously moves the corresponding number  because they are linked somehow . So I can't realign them to be over the correct corresponding number (shape 1 over number 1). And when I preview the slide I see the 9 blue button shapes as well as the numbers 8 and 9 extending past them.

I cannot figure out how to fix this. I cant seem to ungroup them or move them. If I delete the shape it deletes the number.

I've attached a screenshot. The red square around the 9th button and the numbers 8 and 9 highlights what I am talking about. If I move the 9th shape, the number 9 moves with it. How do I get it so that the 8 & 9 are not hanging out there?

Hi H P

hard to say without seeing the file but check the states tab for each of those buttons - that may be where you can line up the numbers. If not, try checking the master slide layout - go to the View tab > Slide Masters to find that.

Feel free to upload the .story file here in the post by using the Add Attachment button - it will be easier for someone to help you.

For some reason I didn't think of uploading the file. I attached it.

Interestingly, I started a new project and inserted this same slide without issue. However, I need to add it to the other project because it includes a screen recording in try mode. I had to remove it from the attached file because it is work related and confidential.

I'd rather not redo the screen recording in a new file. Is it possible to import the screen recording I already did into a new file?
