Help with Triggers and States

Hi,
I could use some help with triggers and states...slides 1.4 and 1.13 are built to jump to a set slide after the user visits the buttons on the slide. I have created a trigger for each button to change to visited (tried selected with same result) after the user clicks on each and then one for the slide to jump to a set slide after each button is visited. What happens is regardless of the order of buttons the user clicks, when the last one is clicked it jumps to the next slide instead of showing the remaining content...what am I doing wrong?
I tried to attach the file but I get an error; it must be too large...
Thanks,
Marie

Hi Marie,
Sorry about that - there is a file size limit on the forums. Are you able to pull that portion of the course into a new file and share it? Or, if you'd like, you're welcome to send it to us in a support case.
Or if you can show us how your triggers are set up in a screenshot, maybe that'll help us get an idea of what's going on.
Thanks!
Christine
HI,
Thank you...here is a screenshot of the triggers for one of the issues described above. I have tried selected and visited with the same result...
You don't need triggers to change a state to selected that is an automatic state
You have a trigger to jump when the timeline of the slide end do you really want that.
i see no triggers to jump when all states === visited
Hi Phil,
My bad; this screenshot is the correct one...
Think it is jumping because all three states are visited which is overriding the final button jump
You probably want to set it to when timeline starts instead of when state are equal to, with conditions for your states
It jumps after 2 buttons are visited; when you try to visit the last one it jumps to the next slide...now I set it when timeline starts and it skips the slide with the buttons all together...
You need to add conditions that all three buttons are visited.
It is jumping because you have no conditions.
It was jumping before because all three were visited (visited basically means clicked)
Okay, I have never done this before...what type of variable do I need: text, numeric or true false?
No variables just choose shapes and then select your buttons
Okay, did that and now it lets me click the three buttons and see the respective content. Then it takes me back to the screen with the buttons...I want it to go to slide 1.7 and not see the button slide again...so close...
Is that the wrong image again? because that isnt a timeline start trigger
No, that's what I have it set to...so the slide trigger should be set to start timeline and not state selected?
I would set it to on timeline start, with three conditions that button 1 is equal to selected etc
this file has a couple of ways of doing it in, if that might help
here is a very quick demo of what you are trying to do i think
I think I did what you desribed and it still will not advance to slide 1.7...
YES!! Thanks soooooooooo much for your help...the only tweak I would make is to not see the slide with the buttons...it is visible briefly before it moves to the correct slide...suggestions?
The slide is visible because of a tweak articulate made early on in the beta, so the slide actually starts before the triugger fires.
The other way is to use variables and set the jumping on the next slide trigger of your three slides
I would prefer not to see the slide at all after the conditions are met; I think it looks more professional. What kind of variable?
