Hi! I am trying to hide the image on the base layer but still keep everything else visible. If you click through the steps the image is showing behind all the words and directions.
1. Go to View>Feedbakc Masters and that's where you can edit the layer master slides and customize the gray slide.
2. That's a bit more complicated than I can answer quickly. Do as Leslie suggested and create a new forum thread on the question. This way others can see it and help.
Ok I will post question two again but that didn't let me change the feedback master. It makes me change the color for all of them... I want to change the colors so incorrect and correct are different colors not the same. Is that possible?
I was wondering how do you create a hidden state for a picture? I want the picture to appear after a motion animation has occurred. I have created a custom state called hidden, but I am unsure on how to actually make the picture hidden.
I have one more question...if you have a numeric entry and you want to make sure the participant puts a value in before moving on to the next slide, what trigger options would you use?
I have a slide with two photos. I have grouped each photo with text so the viewer can click on either to go to the next layer. In my timeline on the layers I have hidden the group I would not like to show on the timeline but it is still showing when I go to the layer and when I preview. I have checked the background fill and other suggestions above but can't seem to figure out why they won't hide.

Go into the layer. Look at the timeline. You'll see a dropdown arrow that says "base layer"
That shows the objects on the base layer. You can deselect the base layer objects you don't want visible on the layer.
you are amazing thank you! I couldn't find that piece and I knew it was simple!!!
Hey Tom,
I have a few other questions that don’t seem to be in the learning community? Do you have a minute to message about it?
Hey Kristen,
Feel free to ask away. Tom doesn't always make it back to the forums, but there are a few of us always watching and reading :)
You can continue here, but if the topic is different I'd suggest a new discussion so that others will see the relevant content as well :)
1. Can you can you edit the correct incorrect layers on try mode? I hate the grey~
2. How can I make the dice not roll the same number twice so I can get rid of the you already answered layer?

Hey Kristen,
You can change the color on each of the layers as well, but you will have to add a rectangle if you do not want the parent slide to control them.
I've attached an example using one of your courses shared above.
Hello Everyone,
I was wondering how do you create a hidden state for a picture? I want the picture to appear after a motion animation has occurred. I have created a custom state called hidden, but I am unsure on how to actually make the picture hidden.
Hi, Julia.
Thank you for reaching out!
The Hidden state already exists in Storyline, so you don't have to create it as a custom state.
When you add your trigger, just choose it from one of the options. See below:
If you created a custom state called Hidden, I would recommend deleting it, or it might confuse Storyline.
I hope this helps!
Thank you it did!
I have one more question...if you have a numeric entry and you want to make sure the participant puts a value in before moving on to the next slide, what trigger options would you use?
Hi Julie,
I'd recommend putting a condition on your Next button trigger.
Example:
Jump to Next Slide
If state of 'numeric entry' is not blank
Let us know if that does the trick or if you need more specific help with your project file.

can you share the file so we can see what you have...you don't need to share the whole course, just the slide
Thank you. Here is a an exported copy
Looks like you have some duplicates on the layer. Here's a recording with an extra tip.
Thank you! You helped me realize I should not be copying my base layer to make additional layers
Happens all the time. I don't know how many times I've waste my time doing the same thing and thinking there was some sort of bug. :)
