Currently my hint captions show up the first time that the user clicks outside the hotspot, and then disappear after 3 seconds. Subsequent clicks outside the hotspot do not trigger the hint caption to appear. How do I make the hint caption appear every time the user clicks outside of the hotspot?
Put your hintbox on a layer with an entrance and exit animation
Set the timeline of the layer to 4.5 seconds (to allow for the animations)
Set the layer to hide itself when the timeline ends
Set the layer to "reset to initial state" when revisited in the Layer Options
Lastly, on the base layer, create a trigger to open the layer anytime they click in the specified area. This may require you add another hotspot under your other(s).
Jerry's on point here! Also, emphasis on number five in placing the additional hotspot underneath your current one so that you're still able to click on it!
You can read more about using hotspots here. Let us know if it works out for you!
Thanks Jerry and Ren for helping me out. The part I was missing was Jerry's step 3 - hiding the layer when the timeline ends. I've now got it working. The entrance and exit animations add a nice touch, but it works without having to set those up. Thanks again.
