Hover help please!

Apr 24, 2013

Hey friends,

I am building a "select your state" map and I am having trouble getting it right.

I have attached the file I am having trouble with. I have created several transparent boxes over each US state (to get a clean hover) and set a trigger on all of them to change the state of each US state to it's popped up position.

Texas and Wisconsin are working perfectly but Nevada and California are not behaving the same way and I cannot figure out why! Please help!

TIA!

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Nicky!

Thanks for sharing the file! I always enjoy seeing map interactions. Great job on this, it looks great!

i did notice one thing that may improve the states.. of the states :D I noticed that you're using multiple transparent objects for each hover effect. the problem with this is that you'll run into issues with the display and switch of states because the shapes are broken up and not really "connected".

I think that freeform hotspots might actually work better for you. Have you tried this out?

I put in two freeform hotspots over California and Nevada. Could you take a look and tell me if that would work for you?

Thanks and welcome again!

Christine
