How 2 set up scenario where a learner commits to at least 2 modules in a group of 5

Aug 16, 2023

Greetings.  I have a scenario where I need to build a training with 5 modules and the settings should have a user commit to at least 2 modules out of 5 for completion.  Any suggestions for how to set this up?

TIA

Hello FGCU Workday Learning Team,

Thanks for reaching out!

Since this is a design inquiry, I'm sure there will be multiple ways to build this in Storyline 360. Allow me to share one of my preferred methods so you can see one possible way to do it.

You can use a numerical variable to track if a user has completed 2 out of 5 modules if you have the 5 modules separated in individual scenes. At the end of each individual scene, you can place something like this to track the number of modules viewed:

Then, in the very last slide of your course, you can send a conditional completion trigger with the following requirement

I'll be glad to apply the conditions above to your project file if you already have one created. Note that the design and triggers might differ depending on how you have your modules laid out in your course.

Let me know if you have any questions or clarifications!
