How can I replicate a PPT animation that won't import into SL?
Jan 14, 2015
Hi Heroes Community!
I fell in love with an animation in the Duarte 5 Rules presentation (slide 23), but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to replicate/recreate the effect in Storyline.
I've tried importing the PPT slide with effects, but the Zoom and Tilt (think rotate) animation that was built in PPT doesn't seem to be supported in SL (I'm using SL2).
Here's a quick Replay video of what it looks like in PPT and after importing: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/122411650/PPT%20vs%20SL%20Animation%20-%20Zoom%20and%20Tilt.mp4
I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally love (think whiney 8-year old) this visual effect, and I would love to create it in my current SL project. I GREATLY appreciate any and all suggestions! Thanks for your time.

Hi Diana,
I don't know of a turn-key way to create the zoom/tilt effect you're looking for, since there aren't currently any emphasis animations in Storyline. You might be better off creating a spin animation in PowerPoint, saving it as a movie, and then inserting the movie into Storyline. You could also add a zoom region in Storyline to complement the spin effect. Attached is a somewhat crude example (open it in Storyline and then preview the slide).
Was just going to suggest the same as Jeanette. If you create the effect in PPT and then save as a Windows Media Video you can then open Storyline and Insert Video (from file) and the effect seems to play fine.
Hi Jeanette, Hi Tracy -
Thank you both so much for for being so much smarter than me and for the great suggestions! I wouldn't have thought to save the PPT effects as a movie file, so I'm excited to give that a try.
I really appreciate all your help and the quick responses :-)
Diana
