This does change from time to time, but I can't figure out why. Right now it's this thick blue thing and I want a thin grey line as an image / shape outline. How can I do this? The options area is pretty sparse. Thanks.
If you are working in Storyline, insert a shape, format it however you want (e.g. change the border to grey and make it thinner, choose a fill colour or style). Once you are happy with the formatting, you can right-click the shape and the menu will give you an option to 'set as default shape'. From there, every time you insert a shape in that same Storyline file it will be in that same format you created. If you need to change it, just go through the process again.
I don't use Studio, but you can do the same in PowerPoint, so I expect it is the same there.
Unfortunately there is not a set as default in the right click for pictures
What you could do is add this in a slide master. Using the Layout, "Question with Media" you can add a border/ change size shape and effects of the media box, even move it around, then when you use this layout in a new slide, click the center of the box to add the picture, and it will fill the box you created.

Hello Kristin, and welcome to Heroes!
Here is information about adding shapes in Storyline. The default Tip is at the bottom of the page.
Is this also possible with images? I'd like a particular type of border around screenshots and jpgs.
