How do you create red-herrings?

Aug 18, 2022

Hello.

My users will fail my exam if they click too much, too randomly.

In feedback, it was suggested that it was too easy because the mouse indicates where to click, when it changes shape.

I'm trying to create hotspot red herrings but I still want to ensure that my users fail if they click more than twice.

As you will see from 1.2 in the attachment, I haven't managed to marry my trigger and my red herrings.

Advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Right now, it adds one to limitclicks when the wrong hotspot is clicked, then it shows the redherring layer which also adds one when it shows. So limit clicks is never three, only two or four.

Personally, I prefer this form of the trigger:

Also, you don't need hotspots 2 and 3, unless you want to send special error messages when they are clicked.  You can expand Hotspot 1 to cover the whole slide as long as you move CORRECT HOTSPOT above it on the timeline, so it will catch the click before Hotspot 1 does.
