How long do bug fixes usually take
May 30, 2017
Hi all
I'm a relatively new Articulate Storyline user (having come from Adobe Captivate) and I'd like to ask the community about their experiences with bugs and how long it typically takes to fix them. I've found two bugs, one is minor, but one is fairly major (courses aren't resuming to the correct slide on HTML5 publishes in SCORM 2004). I've reported both of them, but no one can tell me when they're going to be resolved and apparently there is no way for customers to track bug progress.
So my question to the community is, for those of you who have reported bugs in the past, how long did you typically have to wait to get them resolved?
Thanks
Paul

It seems to depend on the severity of the bug and how many users are affected by it.
Hi there Paul! That's a great question, and we really appreciate that you have spoken up when you stumble across something that doesn't seem right. Here's a peek at how we tackle bugs. We thoroughly test our product updates to make sure that other features are not negatively impacted with fixes that we’ve built. We wouldn’t want to commit to a date and release any builds that are not of superior quality.
Anytime you report something to us, we tag the thread to be updated with new information we receive. That way, you don't have to worry about checking in with us--you'll receive an automatic notification as soon as something new is posted!
I've found that generally it is much faster than w/Captivate. And this forum is beyond compare for coming up with workarounds and alternatives.
Thanks for all the replies.
It's just a very frustrating situation for us as we have 4 courses ready to go and we can't release them as the resume functionality doesn't work and we have no idea when or if this will be fixed.
In this instance I've actually had to purchase additional Captivate licenses for my team and am in the middle of converting the course over as we know Captivate doesn't have this issue. The downside for us is that we're missing out on the better file sizes and sharper text from Storyline, but at least we will have a working course at the end of it.
Even today's update didn't address it (I was very excited when I saw it and re-published a course and tested it, but to no avail), which is very disappointing.
Have you had resume in HTML5 confirmed as a bug? This is something I have never seen.
There was an update to Storyline 360 yesterday that may have fixed this.
Hi Phil
I have indeed, Articulate support was able to replicate it and unfortunately the update didn't resolve it.
It only happens on HTML5 content, resume works fine with Flash, but Flash isn't really an option these days.
Hi Paul,
I definitely understand and I'm sorry that we got your hopes up with yesterdays update. It's an issue that is in the hands of our QA team and we'll keep you posted with any other information as soon as we can!
