How to display correct answer after 2 try from user?

May 16, 2014

Hi,

Created a quiz slide and provided the option for user to have 2 attempts. I want once user, finish with his two option and close the feedback window, the correct answer should get highlighted for user.

Thanks!

Hi Vikas,

Welcome to the community!

It somewhat depends on what kind of question you have, but here's an example for a Multiple Choice Question.

So I duplicated the Feedback Master. I typically do this if I'm going to create some custom feedback and Preserve the original master "just in case."

On the Duplicate master I duplicated the the Correct Answer layout, called it Show Correct, and then rearranged the objects on it so I'd have room to type in additional feedback information.

Back on the quiz slide, on the Incorrect layer I modified the continue button so it says, "Continue to Correct Answer. The button trigger hides the incorrect layer and shows the Show Correct layer.

Triggers on the Show Correct layer change the state of incorrect answers to normal and the correct answer to selected. Also, I've written a "more complete" answer.

The continue button on this layer jumps to the next slide.

This may be very different than what you're wanting to do...but it's a start ... maybe

Hi Rebecca,

Thanks for the providing the answer and sharing the example file. This really help me to see what needs to done.

When you said that you duplicated the Feedback master so no changes are done to the original. How exactly you did that change, can you share the steps.

This would help me to keep the original master safe.

Thanks!

Hi Vikas,

I agree keeping the masters "safe" is a good idea.

  1. Click the View tab
  2. Click Feedback master.
  3. Right-click on the "top" master slide to display a shortcut menu (see screenshot)
  4. Select Preserve Master (red line in screenshot) to place a checkmark beside it.
The menu will close, but if you right-click again, you'll see your checkmark.

Same thing works for the regular slide master.

Hi Rebecca,

I found the above very helpful - so thanks. I tried to use this knowledge in resolving another issue, i.e. displaying correct answer feedback for Matching + Ranking drag and drop. Unfortunately without any luck. Can you tell me if it's possible to provide feedback in this kind of quizzes using triggers on a review layer? Please take a look at the attached file (partly in Danish, but you'll get the picture).

With many thanks,
Mette
