How to format keywords in an imported question automatically
Nov 19, 2019
Hi
Just getting started with using Storyline here.
I am a big fan of preparing all of my questions in Excel and then importing them. However, one big problem I am having is that, since most of my questions have a keyword which needs to stand out, I require a way to automatically apply a custom format to that "keyword".
I can to some extent try to control the position of this "keyword" by making sure it is right after the Question for example but is it possible for Storyline to populate that position by pulling the word from an external list (in or outside the slide) or the imported document, and applying custom predetermined formatting perhaps by the use of a custom layouts, an extra text box etc?
I have attached the .story file with some of the questions I have imported from Excel, the keyword is the last word in brackets, written in Arabic or English.
The first 2 slides are how the question is formatted now, and the last 2 slides are how I would like it to be formatted. (at the moment it's within the question title textbox, but it doesn't have to be)
Thank a lot in advance

Hi Mohamed,
Thanks for reaching out! Formatting will be removed during import, so it's not possible to format in an Excel sheet before importing. You'll have to format the keywords in Storyline.
Hopefully someone in the community can chime in with any custom methods for formatting quiz questions!
