How to get triggers to work on master/feedback master slides

Apr 17, 2015

I´ve never had much luck getting triggers to work on master slides so I usually end up copying and pasting any custom triggers in to each slide.

This is getting a little ridiculous and I feel like I need to streamline this aspect of development. So that the user has a seamless experience in a Try Mode screen recording (note: I have the same issue when I create regular quiz questions i.e. not in screen recording mode) I want the try again layer to hide when the timeline ends. Additionally, I´d like the all correct layers to hide when the timeline begins so that the simulation continues to the next slide.

This seems like something that should be achievable with triggers on the feedback masters, however on the layer itself the default triggers are still present (I get this same default triggers on the layers even when I delete the buttons from the feedback masters).

I thought about changing the setting on the try again layer to allow the user to click on the base layer, but that would still require me to change a setting on each and every slide.

Am I doing something wrong or is it not possible to set these particular triggers on feedback masters? If that is the case, does anyone know of a work around?

Hi Nadia,

You should be able to add triggers to your feedback master, but you will see that the normal "continue" or "try again" triggers are on the layers themselves. If you're having difficulty, could you share a bit more about your set up so that we could try to recreate what you're seeing? Also are you in Storyline 1 or Storyline 2?
