How to prevent Storyline 2 hotspot "judder"

Feb 22, 2017

Wondering is there is any way to prevent the slight "judder" when clicking a hotspot in a Storyline 2 published file.  I noticed it and so do my users.  This judder only occurs in a published LMS file, not in the preview.

See the attached video.  When I click the link, and the new page loads, there is a slight image distortion or judder - not sure how else to describe it.  In a software simulation, after several clicks all over the screen, it is really distracting.

Is there a setting I am missing?  Thanks in advance.

Hi Vimal.  Thanks for that screen recording- that was extremely helpful.  It looks like what you are seeing is a shift from the screen recording action to the "placeholder image" on the next slide with the hint caption advising of next steps.  I tested my own file with a screen recording inserted as Try Mode steps after having uploaded it to SCORM Cloud, and the difference wasn't as severe as what you're seeing.

Could we see your .story file for some testing, to be sure that we can reproduce what you're seeing?

Sure I can share - but keep in mind this is just a test, and not a complete project - we are still learning.  I simply created a full screen recording, and then brought it in as a a try me simulation.  I changed the hint caption text and color of the callout, and that's about it.  In other words, the test was pretty much standard software simulation functionality.  It sounds like you also experienced that slight judder, maybe not as severe as mine.
