How to remove next button until engage interaction is visited

Aug 16, 2018

Hi,

I made Accordion type of interaction in Engage. When I imported it in Storyline, I would like to achive that the user has to click on every part of interaction before he can load next slide.

I tried with your instructions on this page but they all appropriate for interactions with fragments (more objects such as picture, textbox...)

But when I try to apply your advices on  fixed Engage Intreaction I got message: Flaged object do not have selected state ( screenshot in attachment).

I hope you can provide me with some usefull tip on how to acchive my goal with Storyline.

Thany you in advance for your time and help.

Regards,

Mirjana

Hi Mirjana,

What version of Storyline and Engage are you using? It sounds like you're attempting to disable the next button until the Engage interaction is complete?

It would be helpful to know more about what you've set up in terms of the Engage interaction properties and the Storyline navigation, and then I can help point you in the right direction!

Dear Ashley,

I'm using latest version Engage 360 Build 4.18.16333..

Yes I'm  attempting to disable the next button until the Engage interaction is complete.

In attachmet there is screen shot of one of the engage interaction. For example you can see that the properties in Arciculate Storyline imported engage interaction for the next button is disabled and I canot do anything with it.

The other attachmen is screen shot of the properties in Engage for the same interaction.

Thank you in advanced for quick response and help.

Hi Mirjana,

When you embed an Engage interaction into Storyline, the Storyline next button serves to move the learner through the Engage interaction. Once the interaction is complete, the learner will move on to the next slide. In other words, you don't need to disable the next button until the interaction is complete because Storyline does this automatically.

I did notice that you want to open the interaction in a new browser window. Have you tried the "show in slide" setting instead?
