How to reset slide number in Articulate Storyline ?

Jun 05, 2015

Hi, try to reset the slide numbre (ex: 1.4, 1.17, 1.5, 1.78, 1.14, 1.6) in the menu Player / reset from story but won't work. Can it be done by the software ?

Thanks

Hi Prudence,

What are the triggers on each slide? The slide number only indicates when they were created, not their order in the project. If you have a trigger set to jump from slide 1.6 to Slide 1.7, that would make sense. You may want to look at setting it to jump to the next scene from slide 1.6

If you're still unable to set these up, sharing your .story file will be a good way for us to take a look.

Hi Ashley

Thank you for your reply.

I have those triggers in place, I want to jump from 1.6 to scene 2.1 begin assessment. Because the it keeps taking me back to 1.7 video, I was also trying to reset player so that the numbering is done automatically and no luck.

I think the issue is on slide 1.6, I've included screen shots of the triggers in the attached ppt.

Note that Slide 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 , are fine.

Scene 2.1,2.2,2.3 are also fine

correct sequence: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 jump to Scene 2.1, 2.1, 2.3

Hi Aylssa,

Through your continuous question I realised that I had a trigger that was not actioned in one of the layers that was link to continue button to jump to 2.1 . Finally the flow is working now as I checked on articulate review and I have included the screen shot here.

It has noting to do with the numbering unfortunately.

Many thanks

Prudence

Hi Team,

In my file I had inserted the %slide count command in the master slide and the page count were showing automatically but suddenly today when I added an extra slide in a scene, suddenly the command wasn't working. Its showing 19 of 18. Some how the total number of slides has become messed up. Please suggest how can I change it to 19 of 19.

Hi there, Pooja.  I'd love to help!

In 19 of 18, is 18 a static number or a variable reference?  If it's a variable reference, how is the total number of slides calculated?

Tip:  For variables, I like to open the variable window to see where each variable is being used.  It usually clues me in to what is adjusting the variable values and where I can find that trigger!

Feel free to attach your .story file here, as well!
