Html5 player loses focus

I work for a government agency and we recently purchased licensees of 360.
Every project must go through 508 testing - The testing officer showed me how the focus changes from player controls to new slide.
Example: I have the next button tabbed as the player advances automatically but the focus changes to each new slide in progression. I want the focus to stay on the player controls as the user intended. This is not an issue with the flash player but Flash is not option we can use.
Is there some setting I missed
Also played with "Disable Skip Navigation Button" which had no change

What you're seeing is expected behavior. Learners who use accessibility tools like a screen reader need to be notified when the screen changes. It's expected for the focus to be on the slide rather than the Player when moving to the next slide.
We don't offer a way to customize the focus when the slide changes.
