http://cloud.scorm.com - ipad - safari browser - error

Jul 10, 2012

Hi,

My first experience (1 week currently) of Storyline after 15 years of developing elearning in Flash and I'm pretty impressed. This could be the way to go for my business.

I hope to give input as I learn Storyline but for now I have come across a slight problem listed below, if anyone could help it would be most appreciated.

1.) I have built a very basic test course in Storyline and published out in a SCORM wrapper for LMS.

2.) I've uploaded the SCORM wrapper to my test area on http://cloud.scorm.com and tested successfully on PC.

3). I'm having trouble running this course through http://cloud.scorm.com on my iPad using Safari. I'm getting the error message "Content Authorization Failed" in the Safari browser window and therefore cannot run the course.

Could anyone shed any light on what the problem/solution may be?

Many thanks for any input.

Andy

Is that the same Andy Frost that used to develop courses in Flash/XML?  If so, how are you these days?  I reckon you're gonna love SL - so much Flash-flavoured capability straight out of the box!

There'll be others along with loads more experience of iPad compliance because I've not had to touch on that much to date.  Here's a mini-guide or two that might offer some help though.

All the best

Simon

I've just discovered that I've fixed the error. The problem was that at the end of the 'publish to LMS' process, I didn't press the 'Zip' button which creates the SCORM wrapper. I was just publishing, going to the output folder in Windows Explorer and 'zipping' it up manually (this is how I currently create SCORM wrappers in my 'other' work).

Hi Simon,

Yep, that's me - nice to hear from you. I'm mostly still Flash/XML'ing but a client has recently asked for courses to be delivered to iPad. I thought i'd be taken out of my comfort zone learning new tricks at my age but Storyline has been a breeze so far, I'm rather impressed - it's certainly the best 'rapid' tool I've used to date.

Hope you're keeping well and that business is good.

Cheers for now

Andy
