Hyperlinks (to Internet and intranet pages) do not open in Storyline. These hyperlinks are valid and can be opened from, by instance, a Word document or a pdf document.
It is not the first time that I have inserted hyperlinks in a Storyline text zone and this without any problems but it is the first time that I have no possibility to reach the page 'behind' the links.
Are you testing locally (on your hardrive)? If yes, then the hyperlinks are likely blocked by your browser's security settings. Upload your published content to some server (or an alternative like DropBox) and test again.

I'd agree with Michael, and there are a number of free web servers you may want to use within this article for testing before publishing it out to the actual site.
I also wanted to let you know that Storyline update 6 was released at the end of last week and included a number of bug fixes and performance updates. You can read the entire release notes here and use the link at the top of the page to download the update.
Please let us know how your testing goes from a web server or alternative.
