I want to play flash files in ipad which are uploaded in LMS

Nov 19, 2015

Hi

I want to play flash files in i-pad which are uploaded in LMS client SERVER.

I exported flash course into HTML5 and i-pad supported course in articulate but this course is not playing in i-pad. Is there any chance to play flash files in i-pad?

Thanks in Advance...

Hello Srikanth,

Question: Are you able to launch the uploaded course on ANY device?  Have you tried launching it from a laptop?  I would begin troubleshooting there, to make sure that there wasn't a problem with the way the course was uploaded.

Second, if your LMS is not Tin Can compliant, then you do not want to check the box for mobile support when you publish for LMS.  ONLY check the box to include HTML5 content.

This will result in HTML5 content opening in your iPads mobile browser (safari), which is SCORM compatible.

Here's a great tutorial on publishing for LMS from Storyline - https://community.articulate.com/series/4/articles/publishing-a-course-for-lms

Hope this helps

Hi Srikanth,

In addition to what Brian shared here I did want to point to this article on publishing for mobile deployment and the different elements to consider.  Also you mentioned you've uploaded it into your client's LMS, and if you think it's an issue with how the LMS is launching content as well you could also look at testing it in SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for testing SCORM content.

Srikanth,

I agree with Phil here.  If you deselect the mobile player on iPad option then your SCORM 1.2 content will play back on your iPad just fine, AND will report back to your LMS.

So, deselect the mobile player options in your publish settings, only keep HTML5 selected, publish for SCORM 1.2 and then test on your iPad again.

Hi Srikanth,

I have not seen that error message before when accessing it on an iPad? That's what you see when trying to load in the mobile player or when you're viewing it in the HTML5 output in Safari? I'd also agree with deselecting the mobile player option and let it default to the HTML5 output in Safari - and you'll want to confirm you're on the latest update of iOS and the latest update of Storyline 1 Update 10.

Lastly, I saw you were publishing to your D drive, and we always recommend publishing to a local drive as detailed here.
