Images spontaneously dissappear in Storyline

I opened Storyline this morning and for the 2nd time, all images in the presentation disappeared. The images can be seen in the slide preview to the left of the presentation screen but not on the slide itself. The image frames are there but the images on slides and master slides have vanished. I have seen this problem mentioned  in other posts but it appeared to be related to a network problem. All files and program are on a local machine with no network files.

Images were inserted mostly as PNG but some were JPG. Update 5 was loaded last week. The machine is running Windows 7, 64 bit. All Windows updates have been installed, including .NET, have been installed.

I also have a problem with Storyline crashing frequently. I have followed the repair instructions but have not seen an improvement.

Please help.

Hi there Donald,

Sorry to hear about the trouble with this!

Just curious - which steps did you take for reinstalling? If you didn't follow these instructions, please try those steps. That process covers a lot of things that aren't fixed with a typical uninstall/reinstall. 

Hopefully that will help with the crashing.

Now, for the images - does this appear to only happen with one project file? If so, it may help to try importing the slides into a new, blank project file. Here's a tutorial that will walk you through the process of importing from an existing project.
