Hi -- I've read the guidance and best practice articles for Powerpoint imports, but in my case, I have a fairly detailed SL template. I want to import the slide content from a deck, but I want the equivalent of paste-special..... I don't want the source file master or any of the related overhead. Is that possible, or do I manually have to apply and tweak my own masters to everything after-the-fact. Thanks!!
Hey, Martin. When you import your PowerPoint into Storyline, you might see slight adjustments to the formatting. You'll want to be sure that your Story Size exactly matches the presentation size of the PowerPoint file. Give the import a try, and let us know how you make out. You're also welcome to attach a sample of the files here if you'd like us to take a look!
Thanks… I’ve seen that article and understand the formatting items. What I’m looking for is a straight content import. I don’t want, and can’t have, the second slide master in my SL file. There are just too many differences to make editing and cleanup practical. Imagine, for example, a vendor that develops content in a completely different theme or template. I just need the images, text boxes, captions, etc… don’t believe there’s a way to do this.
Can't really do that, either. Unless I'm missing something, pasting from Powerpoint brings items in as images... not editable. Without something like a paste-special, it's tough going. Might be a potential feature request, but I'm not sure how common importing is done and whether that would be worth the development efforts. Thanks
It's absolutely worth submitting as a feature request, Martin. I'm sure there are others in this community who could benefit from that feature, as well. You can share your ideas with our product development team right here.

Hi there, Heidi!
Importing PowerPoint content into Articulate Storyline isn't an exact one-to-one conversion. As a result, text and images may look a bit different. This article explains some things you should consider when importing PowerPoint content.
Let us know if you have any further questions!

Hi Martin, since you're using a completely different template, it sounds like a copy/paste of the images, text boxes, and captions is the way to go.
