Importing an Articulate project with Engage slides

Mar 26, 2013

Hello,

I've imported a project (built in Articulate Studio) and imported into my new Storyline project. It appears to have worked but when I publish it the Engage slides aren't there. Any advice?

Thanks

Sue

Hi Susan,

If they're not working after uploading your course to your LMS, it may be due to the type of content the LMS supports. To test this, try uploading and testing your course in SCORM Cloud to help us determine if the issue is Articulate related or if it's on your LMS's side.

If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on.

If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team.

In the meantime, the articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Hi Christine,

I was just uploading via web so it isn't any SCORM or LMS issues.

I just clicked the import button on the Storyline package.

I was using a trial version of Articulate Studio (as the bought version is on someone else's computer). I'm about to purchase the Articulate Studio package but really need to be able to get these Engage slides to show in Storyline?

Got any other suggestions?

Thanks

Sue

Hi Sue!

Ahh, sorry about that. How are you viewing the published content, then?

If you try to view the published content locally, the Engage interactions may not show up properly, or at all. If you view published Storyline content on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.

To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the following article for details:
If you don't have access to a web server or LMS for testing, you could always use the free trial for Articulate Online, or Tempshare. Another option would be to publish for CD, using the method described in the article above.

Hi Sue,

Engage interactions aren't supported for HTML5 or mobile (Articulate Mobile Player):

To see a full chart of which features are supported using the different output types, please follow the link below:

Storyline features that are supported in the Flash Player, HTML5, and the Articulate Mobile Player app for iPad

I am a little confused about your question though. Is this where you're trying to view the Engage interaction? If so, that may be why the slide isn't showing up.
