Inactivating Hotspot
Sep 04, 2015
Hi,
I have a hotspot on my slide. I set up a trigger so that clicking this hotspot advances to the next slide. I also have a trigger that clicking outside the hotspot shows the Failure layer. This hotspot and an accompanying caption don't appear on my screen for 10 seconds. The issue I am having is that if a user clicks before the hotspot appears, they see the Failure message. I don't want them to see that until they click after the hotspot and caption appears.
I set it up so that the Initial state of the caption is Hidden. Then, added the triggers in the screen shot. But it's not working.
Is there something I am missing or does anyone have ideas how to accomplish what I am looking for?
Thanks for your help!
Michele

Hotspots don't carry states themselves - you will be better off placing the hotspot on a layer and hide the layer instead.
Hope this helps,
Alex

Glad to hear it Michele! Thanks for popping in with an update.
Wow, so glad i found this. It works, too! thanks!!!!
Actually, I did not use the "outside the box" trigger because I found that didn't work. But having another layer is a great thing.
