Include different number of questions in quiz based on variable value

Jan 25, 2019

I would like to have my trainees select which scenario they are in, then direct them to two quiz settings:

1. Senario A: take question 1-5, with all 5 questions included in score calculation;

2. Senario B: take question 3-5, with only 3 questions included in score calculation.

How can I control this, with different value assigned to a variable, if possible? Thanks a lot.

Hi Pollux!

It sounds like you may need to separate this into two quizzes with two result slides – one quiz will have questions 1-5, and the other will have questions 3-5.

Currently, Storyline lets you track a course either by the number of slides viewed, by course completion trigger, or by a single quiz (result slide). You have a couple options if you need to track multiple quizzes, depending on the quiz the learner chooses.

  • If you simply want to mark the course as "passed" if the learner receives a passing score, consider using the course completion trigger.
  • If you do need to track the actual quiz scores, I'll leave it to the community to help you set up that custom quiz. This similar discussion is a good place to start!
