'Incorrect, Try Again' Layer on Try Mode - Storyline Recording

Aug 10, 2020

Hi everyone, we are working on a project and we are using the Storyline Recording Tool, we are doing a Simulation (Try Mode) but it's our policy not to test on this simulations (because we have other module focus only on testing), we are having  trouble getting disable the layer "Incorrect, Try Again", we work on projects with many many slides, I have read here that it can only be disable by going into each slide and edit the number of attempts. There is a way to erase the "Incorrect" layer from every slide without having to go one by one? We are using the Recording tool for time efficiency, so going for each slide is not what we are looking for.

Thanks in advance.

One way I found to speed up the process of removing layers is to right-click on a layer and select compress all layers. As you start uncompressing layers, you will run across the extraneous layers (Hint, Incorrect, etc.). You can then select those compressed layers and delete them. It still can take some time, but not as long as going through all the uncompressed layers. Hope this helps.

Hi Darin,

Thanks for sharing your workflow. That could certainly help others that run across this conversation in the future.

As for your followup question:

Is there any way to turn off the response layers (Hint, Incorrect, etc.) when you select Try it mode?

You can certainly turn off the Hint layer via the Try Mode options, but you'll need to manually remove them as you indicated above for the others.

It sounds like you may not want any layers to appear. I'm curious if the Test mode may work better for you. This mode allows you to de-select all of the options and have zero layers on your slides:

Let me know if that works better for you.
