interactive animations and flash/html5

Aug 18, 2013

Hello - I am new to e-learning and articulate. I would like to know if it is possible to do interactive animations in articulate that involves dragging lines, objects and photos? Will I have to use flash to do this? If so, can it later be published to HTML5 for viewing in a tablet?

Hi Rama and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

It'll depend on the specifics of what you want to do...for example, if you have animations you've created in Powerpoint, they are dealt with a bit differently in Storyline.  You'll see mention of the fact that Storyline does not support motion paths, but that we are building future capacity for animations.  If you plan on creating Flash animations, we do have an article that describes best practices when creating in Flash. Before including anything in your Storyline course that you would want to work within Flash and HTML5, I'd suggest reviewing this article which compares Storyline's Flash, HTML5, and Articulate Mobile Player output.

I hope that helps point you in the right direction.
