Invisible images bug
Dec 02, 2014
Hello. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue. As you can see in the attached photo, I have characters (and also images on other slides) that appear in the timeline and are also outlined, but are invisible. For characters, I can delete them, and add a new one just fine. However, for images the problem remains. It's only for some images, which is strange. All of my images are saved to my PC, as opposed to just copy/pasted in.
I've already restarted the course several times. I have tried copying and pasting the slides into a new project, but the problem just followed.
One glaring thing is that I have yet to update to version 7. I have been waiting on IT to do that since it required admin privileges.
Not sure what to do at this point. This is a huge course, and starting over is not something I can easily accept.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Tad
hard to know what you have already tried and equally hard to diagnose without seeing the story file, so sorry if I am saying things you've already done.
Hi Tad,
I'm sorry to hear about your images as well. This is something our team has seen before in Storyline 1, and unfortunately it seems to be a corrupted file. You mentioned copying/pasting into a new project - but I'd recommend trying to import the file into a new project, and if that doesn't work you may want to even try in smaller slide chunks to see if one particular slide is the root cause here. We have reported this issue to our QA team, but the behavior is inconsistent and not something we've been able to replicate. You'll want to first confirm that you're working locally as mentioned here and I would update to Update 7.
Thanks for the suggestions. I got the upgrade. I tried to import, but the problems followed.
Working locally turned out to be the issue. Some images were saved locally, while others were on the network. I am getting those more organized now.
Thanks.
Thanks Tad for the update, and you'll definitely want to ensure you're working with all local project files. You may need to relink those previous images, and I'd suggest doing so in a new version of the project that you've checked that you started from your local drive.
Glad you got it working Tad
