iPad delivery – screen not displaying correctly

Oct 11, 2019

Hi

I’m looking for some advice on how to fix a persistent issue. I’m using AMP to launch Storyline courses on iPads. The courses are small (around 5MB each when published), generally contain a menu screen, some reference content contained on a single screen with layers and a few questions that are typically created using freeform questions. They are heavily customised so contain shapes, images etc to make them visually appealing. I’ve also made heavy use of triggers – not sure how relevant that is.

I’ve noticed that when going into a question screen for a second time the screen does not always display correctly. The slide master elements show up, but not the content. The fix is simple - double-tap on the Home button, tap back into the module and the screen is correctly displayed. But this is distracting for learners. I’ve also recently seen the same thing happen on the menu screen where very little is going on.

I came across some discussions a while ago that suggested this issue had been experienced elsewhere and was now resolved. I have the latest Storyline 3 version installed and have tried this out on new (2018) and older iPads. The issue isn’t consistent – for example, I believe it is more likely to happen after remaining in the module for some time. And first viewings always seem to work OK.

Any suggestions?

Hi Rachel!

Thanks for sharing with us! It sounds like the issue always happens when returning to a slide.

I'd like to take a look and see where we could eliminate the inconsistency of the course display. Would you mind sharing your file with us? You can do so by using the "add attachment" button in this discussion. Or you can share the file privately with our Support Engineers by using this link.
