iPad/HTML5 Issue with vertically aligned data entry fields

Mar 14, 2014

Hi there, I sent a support ticket for this, but thought I would check here as well to see if anyone has had this issue, which occurs when running HTML5 output from Storyline on an iPad.

We have multiple data entry fields which are vertically aligned on a slide. When the user taps on one, the keyboard opens up and cursor appears inside the selected entry field, but then cursor (focus) immediately shifts into the entry field below the one they tapped on. Strangely, this only seems to be an issue for data entry fields which are vertically aligned.

Has anyone else run into this issue before?

Hi Matt and welcome to Heroes!

I see your support case with John and that he reported:

I was able to replicate the issue on my end. I found that the issue does not happen for some reason if the iPad keyboard is set to split. On the iPad keyboard, hold down the button on the bottom right and then choose "split". I will report the issue to Quality Assurance. I cannot guarantee when the issue will be addressed. For now that is the only workaround that I have found to work.

We'll be sure to post here or reply to your Support case if there is any further information.
