We have a very long video on a page in a Storyline 2 created course. We would like to either automatically or manually (by the learner clicking a button) create a bookmark in the middle of the video, so when the learner leaves and then returns to the course, they don't have to start the video again from the beginning. Is this possible and if so, how?
The blog Alyssa recommended only works if you have the video in several parts on distinct slides.
Of, course, that shouldn't be a problem. Breaking up a video is definitely worth the effort. SL handles lots of short videos much better than one long one, as do your learners, and anybody working on the project. win-win-win!!!
Thank you Alyssa and Walt. I agree with you, Walt, in that Alyssa's recommendation, although a unique solution, doesn't work with videos unless that video is chuncked, which gets back to the original issue (trying NOT to chunck the video). The best option is going to be to chuck the video into 2 or more segments (no segment longer than 5 minutes) and put each chunk on sequential slides, with auto advance to the next slide when the current video segment completes.
IF anyone else has any better solution, I'd love to hear about it.

Hi Russell!
Is the video a MP4 file, or is it embedded from the web as a Web Object?
If you're using a MP4 video, check out this blog post for an idea on how learners can save their place in the video before leaving the course: Save the States on a Slide Upon Resume in Storyline.
