Is there a way to change the default slide timing in Storyline?

The default is not adjustable, and you'll need to change it slide to slide. It has been popular among community members to request this as a new feature.

Is there a way to do this in Storyline 2? I adjusted the timeline on all of our Slide Masters, but when we insert new slides, they're still 5 seconds long. Am I making a mistake somewhere?

There isn't a feature to adjust the default slide timeline length for the entire course, although it's been something other users have shared in the form of a feature request.

Is it possible to change format of default course timer, i.e. its color, font, size etc.?
