I REALLY need help! I created my first course, and it took a LOT of hard work and a LOT of time since I am a beginner. I published the course, and sent the output files to someone else to add to our LMS. Then, my computer crashed. I lost the .story file, but do have access to the output files that were emails.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me there is a way I can edit my course using the output files! I need to make a change, and I can't even imagine recreating the whole thing over again :(
I'm so sorry to hear about the computer crash. What specifically are you hoping to edit? Articulate doesn't support editing output files, but many of our community members have found ways of doing it. Can you share any details?
It's a 20 or so slide presentation. I created it within storyline, not powerpoint. Every page has animation, and narration; and there are 2 videos, 1 software simulation, and a quiz at the end. Everyone loved it so much they decided they want to make it available to another department. However, I have to remove a slide that has confidential information (that is for my department only) and add two more section that would be helpful for the other department.
I will be devistated if I have to recreate the entire course over again...
Again, I'm really, really sorry to hear about the loss of work, Jacqueline. I wish there was more that could be done, but without the source files, I'm afraid there's no way to go back in and edit / add / remove slides from the output.
This is the last thing you'll want to hear, I'm sure, but lots of our users and staff backup their work and store it safely online automatically using solutions like Dropbox and Google Drive.
