In light of this conversation, I still don't see a way to do this. Can it be done or is another FR in order?

PS I'm not getting into the argument re why they should behave like this. The bottom line for me is that it should be an option as markers sometimes make better use of aesthetics and (closable/hideaway) space etc than text boxes etc.

Still no way Simon, it is amazing how markers are not consistent with other Storyline features almost like they were a last minute thought
