Issue with player labels not saved

Hello,

Several of us at work are having the same problem.

We are working on multilingual projects.

In the player we import an XML file which contains translation for the different text labels, text labels are updated and publication goes fine. So far so good.

Now, if we save & close the project, the next time we open it the player reverses to English (which was used for the first version of the project). We have to reimport the XML each time we want to make a change on the project & republish it, which is a problem since we have a lot of projects in different languages going on.

Any ideas or is it a known bug?

Hi Benoit,

Are you all working on the same Storyline file or individual files? If you're working on the same Storyline file, you'll want to make sure that you're working off your local drive instead of a network or USB drive. If you're working on a local project file and are still experiencing the behavior, can you also check that when opening the Storyline project again, the correct player is selected?  If you'd like to share your .story file with us, we'd also be happy to take a look. We heard about network issues so I'm working locally with the files.

If I import the correct XML file (for ex. our customized version of Italian) and then do as mentioned in the procedure you linked, the labels switch back to English immediately.

Thanks for sending along your files, and I see that Jayem was able to reproduce your situation and shared the following solutions:

To correct this, please try this out. 

1. Close Storyline 
2. Copy BMX_IT.xml 
3. Paste BMX_IT.xml on the following folder: 

C:\Users\a\AppData\Roaming\Articulate\Shared\2.0\Frames\StoryFrame\TextLabels 

4. Open your project in Storyline 
5. Go to Player > Text Labels 
6. On the Language drop-down bar, please select BMX_IT. 
7. Save and close your project then open it again to test it out.
