Issue with sharing my published project.

Mar 10, 2017

Hi,

I am having issues sharing my published content. I successfully publish my project to CD and it allows me to open and view the project immediately upon successful publishing. I can then email it or save it to a USB. I can then open the project successfully on my PC (after many steps!) by extracting the files. When I share the file with someone who has a Mac they cannot extract the files and therefore cannot open the project.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I have attached the error message that comes up when we try.

thanks

Hey Martha,

Welcome to Heroes, so happy you're here!  Since executable (.exe) files aren't compatible with Mac computers, your content won't automatically launch which is why you're seeing that error. You can manually launch CD-published content on a Mac by double-clicking the story.html. However, local security restrictions may prevent your published output from working properly. To ensure it runs properly, you'll also want to add the folder where the course is located to your local Flash Player Security Settings on the Mac.

That being said, we do recommend publishing for web, Articulate Online, or LMS for the best viewing experience on a Mac and hosting it in the chosen publishing environment, so it may be worth exploring one of those options if you have many Mac users that need to access it.

Thanks so much for reaching out here, please let me know if there's anything further I can assist with! :)
