Since the most recent update to Storyline, I am unable to import slides from PowerPoint. Is there a known issue, or a way to remove the latest update, so I can start working again?
There are a few reasons why a Powerpoint file may fail to import into Storyline. We have a great resource that provides more details and solutions here!
In the meantime, if you do need to revert to another version of Storyline, you can do so by:
Opening the Desktop Application
Click on the down arrow next to Storyline
Then click on Other Version and select the version you would like to install
If you continue to run into any snags with importing PowerPoint files, please let us know!
Thank you for the response Vincent. This is helpful.
Downgrading didn't seem to help. I was able to import a PowerPoint finally last week, though and now I seem to be having issues again. I'm wondering though if it's isolated to my international partners and/or if the issue is more with the audio embedded. However, I can't make the changes suggested to PPT (as far as changing/repairing), without paying a visit to the Service Desk first.
Sorry for the late response, I didn't see this one. It seems to be any of my international partners (specifically Columbia). It seems to be any of their PowerPoints that cause me issue. I'm going to run this by my team too - because the last I checked, our settings are all set to the recommendations provided by your team. Doesn't seem to matter if I leave audio in or take it out.
Thank you for those details! I am sorry that you are still hitting this snag. Another question as we continue to work through this, do you happen to have any additional PowerPoint add-ins?
Please keep us updated after checking in with your team and let us know if you have any questions!
I have seen some instances where having the Camtasia add-in causes the importing to fail. Could I have you temporarily disable the add-in and then try to import the PowerPoint file?
To do that, you will want to:
Open your PPT presentation.
Click File, then click Options.
Click the Add-ins tab, and on the lower part of the window, click Go…
When the Add-ins window opens, you can untick the other Add-ins.
Then click OK.
In case this helps, here is a brief video walkthrough of the steps above here.
Please keep us updated and let us know if you have any questions!

Hi Samantha!
Is it just one PowerPoint that you are seeing this error with? If you create a new PowerPoint and try to import the slides to Storyline, does it work?

The only other add-ins that I can see, we also use Camtasia.
