Issues with screen recording with IE 11
Sep 18, 2018
Hello,
Can anybody shine a light on my issue?
My storyline (360) is having issues with the recording created in IE 11.
I know that different browsers have different results if it comes down to making a screen recording. But IE (11) should be the best browser to create your screen recodings. However Storyline does not import the recordings the right way. It placed the complete recording on one slide even though this is not what I've set up.
Its difficult to find where the problem occurs. The video does work properly, it just does not create all the slides and actions.
Below is an link to a Peek video i've created of the issue.

My installation is up to date. I even reinstalled Storyline to see if this makes any difference. But no avail.

Hi there, Harold,
Thanks for recording the Peek -- I can clearly see there's a problem going on here!
I did a quick test of a screen recording using Internet Explorer 11, and everything seems to be working a-okay on my end.
Could you share that project file with our team so we can do some further troubleshooting on it? Thanks!
Alyssa,
Thanks for your post. I've indeed submitted a support case addressed to you. I hope that you or other support members can find a solution fast. Because this is a difficult situation when we are on a deadline and cannot create screencasts.
Kind regards,
Harold Lentink
Thanks for letting me know you opened a case, Harold, and I see you're already working through this with Vevette. We'll do all we can to get this sorted out for you!
I was wondering if this had any resolution that might shed light on my similar issue, as reported here. As you can see, I do not want to give up recording simulations as effectively as possible! Having to create all of our text interactions from scratch is not ideal. Thanks!
Hi Rory,
Thanks for reaching out in a similar conversation to follow up.
I took a look at the case Harold worked on with our team and it seems that he was able to get everything to work as expected in Edge and testing did not proceed.
That being said, with your permission, I'd like you to share your project file with our support engineers to investigate what's happening. You can share it privately by uploading it here. It will be deleted when troubleshooting is complete.
Leslie, thank you so much. It occurred to me yesterday to do the exact same thing. I opened a case late yesterday afternoon. I already included a story with various recording attempts. Should you be interested: Case #01951284. Thanks again!
Thanks so much, Rory!
Hello!
As always, we promise to keep you up to date with the newest bug fixes! I'm happy to report that this issue has been fixed in Update 36 (Build 3.36.21213.0) for Storyline 360!
This bug affected screen recordings and would display the text entry fields incorrectly. To keep up with our newest features and bug fixes, you'll want to update the Articulate 360 Desktop app!
Thank you to everyone who stepped in to report this bug and offer files for us to test!
Thanks for the update. Just as an FYI, when recording in IE11, my formats are still being broken down to one letter per slide, but now I can update the correct answers to include the full entry, unlike before.
