Java script not working

Aug 03, 2015

Hi,

I've set a trigger with Java script for "print" and one for "email", but when testing it locally (published for CD) got a warning that:

I cannot use java script, because my browser doesn't support it.

is this related to the new release of storyline I just upgraded?

before this it worked great.

Hi Michelle,

Will you be publishing for CD when it's going to be distributed to your users or is that just for testing? If it's just testing you'll want to look at publishing for the intended destination as you'll want to ensure everything works as expected in the final environment. Also, there are some known reasons why email triggers may not work as detailed here.  You may also want to review the general Javascript best practices here.

Hi,

Thanks for this.

But this is not what I'm looking for. I had used this same Java script in a project I have done 2 weeks ago and it worked great. I upgraded my Storyline this week and now the same java script doesn't work any more. not the print : "window.print();" or the email.

So I was thinking this is something to do with the upgrade I did. Could this be?

Thanks

Hi Michelle,

Did you update from Storyline 1 to Storyline 2 (different versions) or using the latest update of Storyline 2, Update 6? I haven't heard of a particular issue with the Javascript elements - but if it's no longer working in your file we are happy to take a look at the behavior as well. You could share your file here in the forums or send along to us here.
